Very convenient and clean!
Renovated and very clean room. Perfect location around the corner from main train station.

There were hardened gum spots on the floor in the lobby. The hotel is old. No USB charging anywhere. Breakfast was very basic. Room was fine, for the value- this was okay. But the area blows. Heavy hanger-outers, losts of guys hanging around. Women alone I would not stay here. And it's too bad because the subway station in ON THE CORNER. Which was why I booked it.

Terrible hotel with strange rules
Stayed here for like a week and was a negative experience. 1. Strange rules where you have to hand them the room key whenever you left the hotel. And when you go back to the hotel, you have to ask reception for the key and it does not feel secure at all. 2. If you get a room facing the front of the street, forget about sleep. There's a sports cafe right across the street where people sing and party and yell until literally 4-5am in the morning. Single-pane window doesn't block much sound. Not sure how the back rooms are. Also there's a ton of construction going on starting at around 7am. 3. Housekeeping starts cleaning rooms at like 8am in the morning and make quite a bit of noise. So make sure to hang up the Do Not Disturb sign. 4. Room is literally so small and poorly configured that there wasn't a place where I could lay down my full-size suitcase other than the bed... 5. Small trash can not large enough to fit a beer can. 6. Terrible neighborhood. It's literally a 2 minute walk to the train station and a 20-step walk to the U-bahn/S-bahn, but it's literally like a refugee camp right outside the door. Beggars and thieves everywhere. Somebody tried to pickpocket me on my 20-step walk from the U-bahn to the front of the hotel... 7. No AC. So hot at night. Open window = loud. Closed window = hot. Good things: 1. Breakfast was pretty decent, though they start running out if you go in the last 30 minutes of breakfast.

An okay place if you're just spending the night before catching a train, as we were. It's very convenient to the Hauptbahnhof and priced well. Rooms fine, nothing special. The major downside was the noise--it's on an incredibly busy street with many bars and restaurants--and many loud patrons out at night (probably not a big issue during the winter but it certainly is during the summer). I'm not sure if they have rooms facing away from the street, but you should certainly ask, as otherwise you will be serenading by heavy drinkers into the wee hours. Front desk people friendly and helpful and breakfast adequate by European standards
