Maligne Lodge, Jasper
Jasper is popular and as a result way overpriced from a hotel point of view. This is a motel with a few upgrades but it is very expensive due to demand for rooms. There was a room air conditioner that sounded like a freight train and the room while adequate was not worth $300 a night. People were nice and friendly.

Stay less than one night
Very friendly and accommodating service, comfortable beds, will bring a microwave to your room on request, and only a short walk into town. However, this motel is situated right on the busy main road, you hear trains traveling through all night, no rubber backing on curtains make for an almost unbearable night, but the absolute worst was the heaters in the room that would not turn off so it was stifling hot. To top it off there were mosquitoes in the room. Thank goodness I only booked 1 night here, go elsewhere if you can, I recommend the deluxe rooms at the Athabasca Hotel you will not regret the great views, spacious and bright rooms with peaceful setting, and cheaper than this trap.

The hotel is okay but overpriced for what it is. The restaurant had the worst service I think that I have ever had. Food was very good but 3 out of 4 received the wrong meal and the waitress just stood there!

So-so motel in Jasper
There aren't many hotel options in Jasper, but this doesn't seem to be one of the better ones. The king-bed room was on the street side of the motel and was noisy, small, and cramped with old, cheap-looking furniture, and the bathroom/shower was very small as well. The separate sink area was open to the sleeping area of the room so no privacy there. The air conditioner was a large, noisy portable one that sat on the floor next to the bed, so cold air blew on us all night. Plus, the A/C's thermostat didn't work right, so it kept cooling and cooling and cooling..... On the plus side, the front desk staff were pleasant, the bed and pillows were comfortable, and the towels were somewhat plush and absorbent. But if we were to venture to Jasper again, we would look elsewhere for accommodations. Overall, we'd give it a 2 out of 5.

The outside of the motel was under construction, but our room was clean & comfortable.
