WiFi is extra...!!!?
$230 a night for a pretty basic room and they still want $10 for WiFi - unbelievable! This is 2018!

Tale of Two Rooms
The first room had on the first floor had filthy carpet and the room itself seemed very run down and old. Worse still in the middle of the night the bathroom developed an inch of standing water. We discovered it was water running down the wall from the bathroom (presumably) upstairs and it looked like it had happened more than once since the wallpaper was peeling and brown in that spot. When we reported it the next day and asked for a new room, not only did the attendant not bother to apologize for the lovely wake up call in the middle of the night (ice cold water on the bathroom floor!), but he didn't even seem surprised at all! I'm not sure if they give this crappy room to all the Hotels.com people, or what, but it was terrible! So they give us another room, but don't bother to offer us any kind of help to move all of our stuff to another room on the second floor with no elevator! The second room is obviously one that's been redone, nice carpet, nice tile, wonderful bed! But the spa tub didn't work nor did the hair dryer. I'm giving this place a major thumbs down for terrible customer service and worse rooms! Don't stay here!

Nice hotel showing its age
Nice big room with a balcony overlooking the Merced river. This hotel was really something when it opened many years ago, but now the rooms are showing aging and the lack of up keep. I had to ask the desk how to use a banged up remote for the wall AC. A guy came by in less than 10 minutes. He had to open the inside of the remote unit to program to cool the room. This remote should have been replaced sometime ago. Just little things--like the beautiful lamps were chipped over years of guest abuse. A great location to the park. Ample parking and two places to eat on-site. Just an aging property that needs major remodeling work.
