Excellent, reasonably priced hotel.
My wife and I were on holiday and stayed at hotel Baron on a layover in Iceland because it was a reasonably priced hotel, with good reviews, which had a free breakfast. The beds were comfortable; the around-the-clock staff was excellent, and the breakfast was delicious. It's located for easy sightseeing in downtown Reykjavik. The hotel absolutely succeeded at being what we wanted; affordable, comfortable, close.

Great value
The room was small, maybe a little out of date, but the value and proximity was great. I would have no problem staying here again. The front desk staff were helpful and amusing.

Great Value ,Centrally located,Very good breakfast
Centrally located in city center, just a block away from all major shopping, dining locations, Hotel is a bit old but well kept. great large breakfast selection both hot & cold items. Great for the price in an expensive country.

Good stay and excellent location.
Our stay was very good. The staff of the hotel are friendly and extremely helpful including the receptionist who told us don't go to the zoo as its a farm when we asked about the directions to get there. Cleaning of the rooms were very efficient as even when we were late they still insisted on cleaning the room. The breakfast spread was sufficient and had a good spread from breads to eggs, deli meats and fruits. Location is perfect as it was very near to the main shopping street which was just a short walk behind the hotel. The hotel faces a great view of the water and the mountains. Food was pretty easy to obtain around the hotel. We walked everywhere. The only thing we had about the rooms is the soundproofing of the main door facing the walkway. When we came back later at night after the northern lights hunt we would sleep in til about 9am but couldn't as the walkway was noisy and we could hear people getting in and out of rooms and talking loudly. We even had a few scares as it sounded like people trying to get into our room throughout the day as it really sounded like it. Overall, we could get sufficient rest at nights when no one goes in and out of their rooms or walking about. Fosshotel Baron in a nutshell was good and satisfying.

Lots of good points, a few bad points.
PROS: Location is good. The bed was nice. We were allowed to check in very early. We were able to store our luggage safely the day we left. Breakfast was excellent. There was a safe in the room. CONS: Very few TV channels and awful reception. Shower was awful - tiny, useless curtain, flooded the bathroom.
