No frills, could use some amenities
Pretty basic place to stay if you want access to the beach and the local restaurants & bars. The room was a bit run down with only one bright light and lumpy pillows on the bed. There was no safe in the room, and Wi-Fi only near the front desk. Pool and their beach area was great, though we were woken up at 6:30-7am by a group of 30+ people using it for a party. They didn’t clean our room while we were there (2 nights)

Ok if you just need a place to sleep for a night
Pros: staff is friendly and helpful, right on beach, macaws and iguanas in trees, breakfast is sufficient, A/C works, easy walk to restaurants Cons: run down, hotel sells day passes to pool so it was FULL, dogs and food in pool, some safety concerns like extension cords with phones plugged in on the edge of pool, “bar” only has one kind of canned beer and some sodas, bugs and ants in rooms, pool had hazy water It was ok if you were just passing through and needed a place to sleep for one night. We felt safe.

Price was double what this was worth in CR. Nice location on the beach, but sparse amenities. WiFi only in front of the office. Worst thing is they bus in people for the day on Saturday and Sunday who crowd the pool and beach area leaving no place for hotel guests. There were easily 100 on Sunday - no regard for the overnight guests.
