Not what we thought it would be
A lot of things to consider before booking at this hotel. Firstly, you’ll pay $35.00 a day to self park. You’ll also pay a daily $39.00 resort fee for a hotel that only has a small pool and spa. Experiencing the property, I wouldn’t personally consider this property a resort. The grounds are very small and you’ll end up spending most of your time away from the hotel. Nothing to really enjoy on the property. The hotel rooms are very old. You’ll hear everything anyone around you does. Even after asking for a quiet part of the resort all we heard was crying babies, people opening and closing their doors, the staff were very loud while cleaning daily. While some noise is totally fine, this was excessive. Especially if you’re trying to relax and get away. The location is nice, but it’s not on the coastline. There is a community between you and the beach and the Salk Institute blocks off coastline areas closest to the property. The food was enjoyable and the staff is very lovely. You’ll feel very welcomed and the atmosphere in the main space is nice. With all things considered we would have chosen to stay elsewhere on our trip. We hope this review helps future “resort” goers feel informed before staying.

LOVE the Estancia La Jolla hotel!
My family decided to take a trop to southern Cali to get away from the cold temps in Denver, and we could not have been happier! The rooms were great, the food was amazing, and the hotel staff was top notch! Seriously a wonderful experience, and we travel a lot with our family!
