Rooms GROSS and SMOKE SMELL
Planned a 2-day getaway to Hersey Park for my daughter and my friend and her daughter. Due to GAS prices, looked for an economical motel. SUNRISE INN PICTURES ARE DECEIVING! Our room smelled of cigarettee SMOKE as soon as we got in. (When we were leaving we saw the housekeeper go into our room with a cigarette hanging out of his mouth and a vacuum). The small vanity has a motion detection light that goes off if it does not detect motion in 15 seconds - VERY ANNOYING!!! We sucked it up because if we decided not to stay we would still have to pay for one night. When we got home, we had to wash EVERYTHING and air out our suitcases due to the overwhelming smell of smoke! The towels that they provided had stains on them along with the bedding. There were not enough outlets in the room for all our devices and we had to buy a power strip. We also bought toilet paper and LYSOL!! Also, the ice machine was not working and they had a cooler with ice (GROSS). The carpet was DISGUSTING and the floor in the bathroom was GROSS and not clean. The only thing that was good was the staff was nice and tried to help (our tv did not work and was replaced asap).

We ended up finding a different hotel to stay in. As soon as we walked in the room there was an overwhelming smell of smoke in both rooms we had booked, we had small children and adults with asthma and other health issues so we could not stay. The rooms, especially the bathrooms need more thorough cleaning. The pool was also not open, we were told it was being switched from chlorine to salt and was not ready, which really made for some disappointed kids after visiting Hershey park on a day the temp was in the 90s. The gentleman that checked us in was friendly and attentive, however when we asked about a refund since we couldn't stay in the rooms he said we would need to contact who we booked through. Upon contacting hotels.com they stated they needed to get in touch with the hotel, so still waiting for a resolution with obtaining a refund.

Price was low, room clean and bed comfortable.
Our room was clean and comfortable, however the pictures of a pool are decieving. They have one but we were informed it`s been out of service for several weeks due to not being able to find anyone to do repairs on it. The picture of the kitchen where you get a contintial breakfast is very decieving also as it is just a very small hotel lobby. There also was no sign of any free bottled water or blow dryers in the room.

The pool hasn’t been opened in years scary looking. The owner wives kept giving very dirty looks to people made you feel like get out. Th swearing from the women owners was u real. Very dirty bathtub wouldn’t drain. They never came into the room to exchange towels or garbage
