Martin's Relais, Bruges
Very Good8.0
I went with two friends to Bruges. I had stayed in Martin's Relais about two years ago and suggested it to my friends for our 4 night stay. The room was very comfortable except for the side sofa bed (where I slept) it was a little worn and the mattress not very thick. The room was roomy and had wonderful historical appeal. The shower was fantastic as was the bathtub. There were enough sockets in the room itself but we were a little dismayed to find not a single socket in the very roomy bathroom. So the 3 of us took turns doing our hair in the mirror in the closet where the coffee machine and minifridge were. The location was ideal, quiet yet five minutes max from the center. One evening we went down to the lounge to have a drink. There was just the one desk clerk, who was inundated with people, and patiently and efficiently handling them. After waiting in the lounge for about 15 minutes we decided to go out for a drink instead. All I all, I would definitely stay at Martin's Relais again, because of the helpful desk clerks, the location, the large rooms, the cleanliness, the kindness of the support staff and its historical appeal. Well worth it.

Martins is great
Martins is a great place to stay, especially room 51. A great example of Belle Epoch style, with a great dining facility and beautiful, cozy bar area. You're minutes from central Brugges and all the glamor of this beautiful city. The only down side is driving and parking (even at the hotel parking area) can be more then a little trying.

We were not happy with the condition of this hotel. It had frayed carpets, dingy towels , squeaky floors and doors . The list goes on. How did this hotel ever get a 4 star rating? As much as we loved our hotel in Amsterdam, this one in Brugges was a disappointment. Also , unhelpful hotel staff. Had to take our own luggage to our room going down steep winding stairs.

Awesome room really big compared to European rooms, great WiFi. Would Stay there again! The only negative, we paid extra for a canal view. We had a room with two small windows had to lean out to see the view. Would not have paid extra knowing that. Otherwise awesome!!!!!

A wonderful hotel. Great location. Staff was very helpful and friendly. We had a beautiful suite that was very comfortable for the family (four of us). Bruges is beautiful and we loved our time there in spite of rain — and the Martin Relais made it even better!
