Enjoyed our stay very much...
Our stay was excellent. We had a one room cabin, and it was beautifully appointed. The deck needed a little refreshing as did the vegetation off the deck, but it was ideal for birding. The formal dining room is a little pricey, but the food, presentation and wait staff was outstanding.

Woke up to see a cute neighbour sleeping......
The nicest surprise is when I walked out to the balcony one morning, I saw a cute wallaby sleeping peacefully about three feet below us. I called out to my daughter who was half-asleep and she jumped out of the bed right away and ran to the see the little neighbour. She watched and watched and didn't want to go back inside. My husband and I joked that that was the easiest morning to get her out of bed. The lodges were super comfortable and spacious with a feel of a high-end resort. The restaurants were very nice too, with the deluxe seafood platter as our favourite for a family of three.

Disappointed with Freycinet
Rooms 20 - 26 are in the middle of a huge construction site. If the hotel is going to have a huge construction site, and keep rooms open, they should offer a discount, or better yet, close off that whole section of the hotel, and don't rent the rooms out. After spending a lot of money to stay here, so that we could stay in the national park, I was extremely disappointed. It didn't affect us while we sat on our deck though. The rooms were pretty shabby and dark. The food in the bistro was good. Save yourself a heap of money, and stay in Coles Bay, which is 2 kms from the Freycinet Lodge. Hotels in Coles Bay are 1/2 the price, and get a day pass for the park. No need to stay at the Freycinet, as it is just inside the park.

Great Service and Fantastic area
The cabins are very cosy and clean. The outlook was great, and the walk to the restaurant was short. Great service from the staff, check in and out was a breeze. Kate and the young lass from Nepal Junu were fantastic. Recommend for a weekend away. Short walks to long walks available. Will come back.
