Good Night's Sleep in Edinburgh, Scotland
St Valery was easy to reach, the staff welcoming and accommodating to early breakfast needs, room was clean and the bed comfortable. All at a reasonable price for a clean and comfortable overnight stay in Edinburgh.

Very nice inn; excellent value
We stayed here in Edinburgh at the end of our trip to Scotland. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Breakfasts are delicious and cooked to order, with good variety. The neighborhood is nice and very close to pubs, shops, the Haymarket Train Station, the tram, and buses to get you around. The inn's staff will wash, dry and fold your laundry for 10 pounds per load, which for us was well worth it. We could have spent that much in a laundry and wasted a lot of time instead of seeing Edinburgh. We would definitely stay here again. (Note: it's an old building, so there is no lift. Dragging luggage to the top floor would be challenging. Staff will help you.)

Nice stay.
We arrived early after flying all night. The hotel is right on the tram line, just a block away. It was very convenient. We were welcomed in and offered a full breakfast as they were still serving. The have a wide array of cereals, toast, jam, coffee, juice, yogurt, etc and they also have a menu of very nice cooked foods and Scottish specialties. Our room wasn't ready yet, so we left our bags and went out for the day. Our room was on the top floor with no elevator, but the stairs aren't too steep and it wasn't a problem for us. Our bags were already in our room when we arrived. Room overlooked a nice little courtyard below. Nice and spacious. Small bathroom, but it has everything you need. The owners and staff are all from Lithuania. Not the Scottish experience you might be looking for, but they were very nice and helpful. There is a kilt shop and a bagpipe shop down the street. Stop in there for some authentic Scots.

Couldn't ask for more for family visit
St. Valery is in a lovely old building on a quiet, safe and centrally located street. The rooms are spacious with beautiful details and high ceilings. Everything works. The beds are comfortable. My kids (ages 12 and 14) were very happy there and wanted to stay longer. The staff was lovely, extremely helpful and responsive, and served a delicious breakfast. We'll be back.
