Small stuffy rooms for budget price.
Zwanenburg is a very quiet, quaint little town away from the bustle of Amsterdam. It is a 30 minute walk from the hotel to the train station that will take you directly to Amsterdam Central Station. One way ticket is 3.50 Euro. There is free parking at this hotel. The hotel is situated in a neighborhood beside residential homes. Half the rooms are in little outdoor rooms and the other half is in a traditional hotel building. There is free shuttle service to Airport but you have to let front desk know one day in advance. Front desk staff is very helpful and friendly. The outdoor rooms are very small, the bed takes up most of the room. The rooms are stuffy so you have to keep the window open all all times. The property is as quiet or noisy as your fellow guests make it, it was quiet when I stayed there. I stayed here during September and it was still stuffy in the rooms so during summertime would be miserable. I really think management should provide free air conditioner and small refrigerator in each room. I do recommend this hotel as hotels in Amsterdam cost twice as much but be prepared for small, stuffy room.

Great place, if you don't mind a walk
Very pleasant stay. Inside a neighborhood which was remarkably clean and very charming. The only drawback was the 20 minute walk from the train station with luggage. If you have transportation or don't mind a walk, it's a very good place to stay.

Pleasant with a couple negative items
The room was very clean. The neighborhood was adorable. I'd like to live there. The staff was mostly friendly, especially the young man who worked there and was very eager to be helpful. My complaints are: 1) there is no mini fridge in the room, or any drink/snack machine in the hotel. If you get thirsty at night and the hotel bar is closed, you're out of luck unless you want tap water from the bathroom. Or you can walk to a pub about 6 blocks away. 2) the hotel claims that the train station is a 15-20 minute walk but I have very long legs and it took me 25 minutes at a brisk pace. In fact, google maps lists the distance as 1.1 miles and the walking time as 25 minutes. Although the neighborhood was EXTREMELY pleasant and safe, as a woman from the US walking alone, I was still innately scared returning at late hours. Visitors from other safe countries may not have a problem with this, but being from my country you can't help but be fearful of this situation. Once at the train station, the train comes every 15 minutes and it's about a 10 minute trip to Central Station. Overall the hotel was pleasant but I think overpriced considering these 2 issues. The only reason I was unable to get a room inside of Amsterdam for the same rate is that I had to make my plans only a few weeks before and everything was already booked.

WAY TOO FAR
If you have any intention on going into Amsterdam, DO NOT stay here. They try to say is takes 15 minutes by train but it really takes 30-40 minutes & the trains quit running at 1 so you'll be paying $60 for a 30 minute cab drive.

This is a small, intimate hotel. Not luxurious, but nice. Not the best beds, comfort-wise. A good value for the price we paid. We enjoyed the small-town European experience. We would stay there again.
