Good location and staff......... i recommend this hotel

My room was beautiful with a wonderful view of the marina. The staff was so courteous and I ate a fantastic breakfast in the mornings.

Staff is polite and helpful. Facility is clean and rooms are comfortable

This was my first stay at a Mandarin Oriental property, so perhaps my expectations were just too high. I expected it to be on par with the St Regis, Peninsula or Four Seasons properties I’ve stayed in across Asia. It definitely was not. A few of the reasons: Service: while it was generally friendly, it wasn’t exceptional. In some cases, it border-lined rude. These days, at 5-star properties I except some sort of welcome drink upon check in. There was nothing. When I took my kids to swim, the lifeguard said I must be in the pool with them at all times. My kids know how to swim. And sometimes, I’d like to relax beside the pool. What is a lifeguard for, if not to watch the people in the pool? At check out, there was a mistake in the bill. The attitude of the person was that they were doing me a favor to correct it, even though it was the hotels mistake! As the picture shows, there was a welcome note with supposed corresponding fruit, but nothing accompanying it! This was borderline offensive. Finally, the concierge seemed not very knowledgeable. I asked about a top 10 restaurant in the country, and they had never heard of it before. Hotel condition: while clean and comfortable, the rooms are tired and in desperate need of updating. I’d say they are equivalent to a basic Sheraton or Westin. Not the type of room I’d expect for over $500/night. As other reviewers have noted, the breakfast buffet was outstanding. The location was also convenient.

The property was rundown. It was dirty. Housekeeping was not well handled. The restaurant for breakfast was dirty. The food was bad. The lighting was out. The air conditioning was out. There were ants crawling on the breakfast table.

The service for the property was great but it seemed like a much older property then expected. Rooms were substandard. It almost seemed more like a business hotel than a luxury hotel. The location and views were great if you select a marina bay room. The breakfast was very good and the staff at the dining area was friendly and helpful.
