Quiet and comfortable very close to inlet, shops.
We loved the decor of the hotel lobby. All was good except for beds were too soft for us. As we were leaving the manager told us there are firmer beds available upon request.

Historical Outside, Updated and Comfortable Inside
We were a bit late in the season for most activities and shopping in Seward but you'd never know it at this hotel. It's historical but at the same time totally updated and extremely comfortable. That had to be the best bed I'd slept on in quite a while. Staff very friendly and helpful. I enjoyed the charming lobby, the many historical photos and Alaskan artwork. A bit more money than I wanted to spend, but totally worth it.

Lovely, historic setting
What a lovely historic hotel not far from "downtown" , right near the Sealife Center, easy on-street parking, good location for restaurants, very helpful staff. Really nice exhibits in the lobby area. Rooms were comfortable and clean.

Good place to stay if you want to walk to everything. We stayed in the newer section so that was nice

Needs better management esp at these prices
Our hotel room was advertised as a courtyard view but it was eye level with a parking lot, so we either closed the drapes entirely or had people staring in. Wallpaper was ripped, mold in the shower. The whole place smelled musty. I can accept dated furnishings, but it should be clean, especially at these prices. The female staff members were friendly, but the men all seemed to have drama going on. We had a drink at the bar one night and had to listen to an older man (presumably the owner's husband or a manage?) berate the waitstaff for sending steak sauce to the table in a ramekin rather than a plastic bottle. It was unbelievable.
