Clean and comfortable
Does the trick, clean comfortable room with window that opens for nice breeze at night, a bit outside of Bruges but still walkable and definitely bikeable. Bonus for free parking.

Maybe I was just paranoid.
It was late when I looked for a reservation so a larger hotel with a night desk with parking was key. Velotel fulfilled those conditions, front desk was friendly, but even though the room was already paid for with a credit card they still wanted a credit card on file. I guess they have untrustworthy customers (no stocked minibar, and there was nothing worth stealing in the room). The room was good sized and the bathroom was clean. However the wood floor in the room was a little sticky, not sure if it was wax or something I did not care to know, but when the bedside light switch also had sticky stuff (like duct tape residue) I got a bit paranoid and performed the towel shuffle for the rest of my stay rather than touch the floor. Also used towel on switch. Without making a fuss I did mention the stickyness when I checked out.

Ok if you are driving or moving by cab
The Hotel is more of a 3 star. The location is not very good and walking to the city is out of the question. If you are driving or moving by taxi, the location is not that bad. The staff was extremelly helpful though.

Bring a car and you're good!
Hotel is clean and definitely a good stay for the cost. Its a little out of the way and not really within walking distance of the city center mainly because the route takes you along main roadways but doable if you had to. There is a parking garage (T'Zand) that is easy in/out and right in the middle of the city center. The hotel staff is friendly enough; the breakfast is NOT worth it...they charge 15€ if you request it at checkin and 19.50€ if you get it the day of...then they add another 4.50€ at checkout for taxes. It is a minimal breakfast and you can get more/better elsewhere for that charge. Overall, good if you bring a car and just need a place to lay your head at night.
