Scandic Malmen, Stockholm
Excellent4.0 / 5
Stockholm is expensive! Appreciated finding a reasonably priced hotel close to City Bikes, as that was our main form of transportation. (Hotel is also right next to tram stop.) Many restaurants are located nearby, including street food, which was a lot less expensive than most restaurants. Hotel service was excellent--they made us breakfast to-go for our early trip to the airport.

Great location!
We often stay at the Malmen. Mostly due to its terrific location next to Medborgarplatsen. Easy to take the subway anywhere. Nice breakfast buffe. Friendly staff.

Central, clean hotel with a great value
The hotel is situated right next to the metro, it could not be any closer. It is also in a great neighborhood with lots of bars and restaurants in walking distance. With that being said, my room was also incredibly quiet. The hotel and my room were very clean. I didn't require much service but all employees were very pleasant. Breakfast (included) was amazing. A variety of food for all tastes. I visited in early May and it was quite warm. I wasn't sure if the thermostat was working; I tried to make it a bit cooler but it wasn't a big deal. My room had two twin beds pushed together, but I was alone so I didn't mind. I'm not sure if rooms for 2 have this same setup. I recommend this hotel and would definitely stay at this location again.

Please arrange for room-service thanks
This hotel is mainly price worthy for it's location, the surrounding nightlife and convenience to get to places. There are cute coffeeshops, restaurants and a swimmingpool and library close by. Area is basically top notch. However we were really disappointed that in a 4 star hotel they didn't offer any type of room service. We had to order food/drinks in the bar (which is open to the public) and then carry it (uncovered) via the elevator to our room. It didn't feel very hygienic in a crowded space with lots of ppl. Also if you want a night cap you should buy a bottle around the corner from the lq store cause they stopped serving alcohol around 1am.

Great Location...Not sure about room
Pre-booked the room at a good rate. The staff and folks all speak excellent English. A huge Plus +. It was supposed to be a standard room with desk etc. I think the hotel discriminates on low rate rooms and put me in the basement which had a tiny table 12 " tall in the corner and a chair in the other corner. I felt like this was a room for the "help". The room was small (which didn't bother me). I was more bothered that it appeared to be not what they advertised as well as not being what I paid for. It seemed to me that the hotel punishes those customers who get the cheaper price. I was caught off guard by the fact to use the elevator, you need to insert the card key. I had no idea and freaked when the elevator stopped and all the lights went out. I had to use my cell phone as a light to try and reset and get to the bottom floor. The other quirky thing, were the lights. The key card had to be inserted on the wall for the lights to work. Also, I'm thing there were no other folks on my floor aside from at man who was leaving and told me how to turn on the lights for the room.I totally get the save energy thing and maybe making sure you're a "real guest". But it would have been helpful if the staff explained this a little better at check-in. The only good thing about the room, was it was 2 floors underground and was very quiet (yet isolated.)It was the first time I've ever been able to sleep in a hotel.
