    Great stay great price
Hotel staff was phenomenal. Needs were met with smiles and quickly. Breakfast was fantastic, they even cooked my bacon the way I liked it. Outside pool and pond were beautiful. Hot tubs needed some work but still made the place enjoyable. Beds were a little hard for our liking, but you can't have it all. Would stay again.

    Relaxed, family style hotel
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The Commodore Hotel is an old style family hotel, not chic, and a lot of the cleaning and maintenance is on view, but the atmosphere is friendly, relaxed and unpretentious. Especially nice for families, though traveling with four adults we also appreciated how laid back it is. The rooms are huge, the beds comfy and it is a stone's throw from downtown Stowe. I would happily stay again.

Phenomenal, let’s just say we had a horrible drive from North Carolina to Vermont for our son’s second graduation from Norwich, this time his MBA. He arrived the previous Sunday as he had several classes and a conference to attend; we on the other hand decided a 2 day mini vacation to see his ceremony. Having arrived early, we met the Owner manning the front desk; Bruce he is truly a blessing that started our Vermont stay off right. About the Inn; some reviews said dated, we choose to say a work in progress as it is. I have 40 years of military and work with the government having stayed in hundreds of motels, very few that were built in the 1980’s can compare with the price, the value and the comfort of staying in the Commodore Inn. After arriving Thursday, we met up with our son and his girlfriend and found they were staying in the Alumni Hall on campus and had made reservations with the Commodore Inn for Friday to stay with us. After seeing the dorms, I said let me call the Inn and see if we can get a room for you guys tonight (Thursday) a few minutes later they had a comfortable room with air conditioning, and more importantly a private bath, no bathrooms down the hall from the room (Dorm Life). Overall, the staff; manager Michele and night clerk Melissa were always a smile and friendly greeting. The owner Bruce is very hands on and I can say the friendliest owner of the very few owners I have ever met in their properties all of my travels.

    we loved Stowe.
basic hotel nice outdoor patio by the lake and friendly service. the carpeting and furniture need an upgrade, musty smell inside the hotel. fridge in the room very noisy. short drive to the village wort the visit.

    Really dirty and dated
Both the indoor and outdoor pools were disgustingly dirty - too gross to even think about swimming in, even though it was very hot outside. The outdoor pool had a moldy towel hanging into it that was there the entire three days of our stay. The inside of our bathtub was black and there was no hot water one day of our stay. The staff wasn’t apologetic about the situation with the hot water, just seemed annoyed that I’d felt the need to call the front desk about it. The whole place is really dated and poorly maintained. I can’t believe that it had the ratings and reviews that it did. The price wasn’t even especially low, so it didn’t raise any red flags, considering that we were there during the off season.
