Main Peninsula Hotel of Choice
The Grand Lisboa is one of the older hotels, but it doesn't look it. The rooms in the newer Tower (all non smoking) are very lavish. The lobby and shopping levels are very decadent, with a nice choice of restaurants if you wish to dine there. The prices seem very reasonable. If you're looking to get away from the mega hotels and stay on the main island, this is a great choice. The town and historical stuff is very close walking distance, and a taxi to the Venetian/City of Dream/Hardrock is super cheap when you want to head that way.

At US$ 100 we thought we are in for a steal. Given that room being of utmost importance to us the room was really a nightmare. I don't understand the Star Rating given to the Hotel. Fortunately the service level of the staff was up to mark as a consolation otherwise poor Hotel stay.

Good location, great bathroom
This hotel is in a great location if you want to easily access the old part of the city. There's a free shuttle from the ferry and it's within walking distance of all the main sights. The room size and bed size was nice and the shower was AMAZING - fanciest shower I've ever been in. The hotel is rather confusing though; it consists of several buildings that are connected with lots of winding hallways. It's almost like a labyrinth and can be difficult to find your way around to the various restaurants. Also, if you're a non-Cantonese speaker and looking to explore their casinos, be forewarned that there aren't many English speakers around.
