Great small hotel in perfect location
Rome is an amazing city. Its an outdoor museum. Every turn of a corner brings into view another amazing sight. Its fairly small for a main city thought. There really is only one main shopping area around the Spanish Steps. The rest of the city is just full of tourist shops, best avoided. For easy access to museums and especially the Colosseum I'd def recommend getting the Roma card 72 hours. It gives 3 days of free travel on metro, bus, trams but the best part is the direct access into the Colosseum. No waiting for an hour or so! To avoid the Vatican queues I'd recommend going for the night entrance on the Fridays in the summer. Timed entrance means zero queuing! There are some amazing museums in Rome especially the one in a disused power station, but they do tend to show the same thing, old Roman statutes or mosaics. Not really many art galleries, apart from the Vatican. The churches can be amazing and if you like relic hunting, Rome is the place to go! St Valentines skull! Yep thats out there. Bones from saints, blood from Jesus, you name it, they got it in Rome. Food isn't cheap generally and can be a bit boring. Same Pizza and pasta you get anywhere on the planet. Not like going to Florence where the food is way better. Metro system is cheap and very easy to use. Getting to the hotel, or the centre is easy from the airport. Express train to the central station then clean safe metro train to the hotel.

Nice Hotel close to all Attractions
The Hotel Homs is a great hotel which is located a 2 minute walk from the Spanish Steps, and within a few minutes walk from all the major attractions in Rome (IE) the Colosseum, The Forum, The Palatino & Palatine Hill to name but a few.. The hotel is a wonderful boutique hotel with very comfy rooms and amenities with plenty of places to Eat & Drink close by, all the staff here are very friendly from the front desk staff to the housekeeping staff You will not be disappointed if you book this hotel We travelled as a family of three with a 12 year old daughter who was over the moon when she saw the seperate bed allocated to her we will definately be rebooking to stay at this establishment in the near future

Fair 4.0
Great location - terrible hotel
If you like canary yellow damaged hall walls and threadbare (with holes) green carpet, then this hotel is great for price and location. The rooms are refurbished and quite nice. The doors to the room are not soundproof, so anyone moving in the hall will wake you. There was mold on the ceiling of the bathroom and the base of the shower. The shower head was loose and when the shower was turned on water flew all over the room. (soon fixed by maintenance who were very prompt). Floors are a vinyl wood look which needed a good clean/wash. Feet got dirty from walking on the floor. Bed was sagging in the middle. Staff were really friendly and helpful. Breakfast choice was limited, compared to other hotels, however was really good and the best eggs and bacon I had had for a long time. Limitless coffee was also great. Reception could have had a brochure stand of things to do and a what's on in Rome booklet. Overall a good stay, however I would not recommend and have no idea how it can be graded 4 star.

Exceptional 10.0
The property was extremely convenient to major areas of interest in Rome. Although three metro stations were under construction it was still only 12 minute walk to the metro. Very close to Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain, Pantheon, Shopping, tons of restaurants outside the door, money exchange, multiple coffee shops, fruit and vegetable vendors. Rooms were very clean and cleaning service outstanding. Room size was right for two people. Staff was exceptional. John Lucca was on top of every request and very helpful. Only negative was the wall insulation was a bit light but very quite after 9:30PM; however, this is not something that would impact your stay.

Small
Pretty good location near the Spanish steps but be aware some taxis won't be able to drive right up due to the historic nature of the streets (we had to walk a couple blocks to the hotel the first night - not an issue for us but may be if you have lots of luggage). Room is pretty small, bed/pillows not comfortable, shower is hand-held and has an odd half-pane of glass and no curtain so water got everywhere...
