Petite Auberge, San Francisco
Staff was lovely. However, the inn is run done and in need of renovation. The breakfast left much to be desired. It certainly is not the charming inn it was when part of Four Sisters owned and managed it. Will not return.

Petite Auberge, San Francisco
Stay away from Le Petite Auberge as the rating and the description of the hotel is misleading at a hefty price of $753.51/night. Below are only main issues I experienced. When arrived at check-in around 7pm on a rainy night after a cross-country travel and a busy day in the office, the front door was locked with no one at the front desk. So, the check-ins are done at a “sister” property ("White Swan", 845 Bush) instead of the actual hotel. After checking in, I walked back with the luggage. The room was cold with windows open, and not working heating. The hotel host said it will take up to 20-30 min to heat the old system. Coming back a couple of hours later at 10:30pm, the room was freezing, the fireplace was dead. Three unanswered calls later, I walked to the reception at 10:45 pm, where no one could be found, and then went to the “sister property”. Another 20 min later (11:30pm), after the 4th call, service showed up with the portable noisy heater, stating that the AC/fireplace would not work. The bathtub and the shower curtain had another surprise with lots of pubic and all kinds of hair. The door would not close completely; it was COLD! The room was filthy overall - from windows with dust accumulated over decades to dirty curtains and band aid-covered electric wall switch. I only slept for 3 hours b/c the heater was noisy. The worst ever hotel experience. Stay away!

Very Good8.0
Petite Auberge was like a small, European hotel. Our room was lovely with a fireplace and a view of the garden. The bed was very comfortable and there were plentiful linens. The breakfast was very good with fresh egg dishes, fresh fruit and breads. The location was away from the busy Union Square area, but an easy walk to most places. The staff was very helpful. In the very expensive SF market, the price was reasonable. There were several negatives. The floor above our room squeaked with every step the occupants took, which was annoying. The bathroom had a pedestal sink, so our toiletry cases had to sit on the floor. Overall, though, it was a good place to stay and we’d definitely stay again.

Great stay, highly recommend
Loved my stay at Petite Auberge. My room had a lovely gas fireplace and I enjoyed the wine tasting. Would definitely stay there again.
