Brighton trip
Hotel was clean and comfortable. Loved that it had a swimming pool - which was quite nice (sauna & exercise room as well). Reception staff were mainly friendly (some were -- some weren't). The only drawback was the noise from the bar downstairs & next door and the people that congregated on the street at all hours of the night. This made it fairly noisy for sleeping. the location is great - close to the beach / close to shopping / close to restaurants, but unfortunately also close to the noisy pub next door. If we stay again I would make sure to get a room that faces the beach - that would be much quieter. Loved the breakfast -- huge selection of hot & cold food to choose from -- and took advantage of 'Tea Time' one day - so nice. The restaurant looks out toward the beach and is decorated so beautifully.

no internet or hot water
the room itself was comfortable and had a great view. we also found the staff pleasant. but they had the hot water turned off from 10pm-6am which was fairly irritating as I travel for work and half the reason I stay in a hotel is for a bath/shower. so not having that and not having any notice until after I arrived at the hotel was a major let down then the wifi didn't work in our room, which was disastrous as I was working from my laptop. so all in all about 60% of the reason I wanted to stay in a hotel was for bathing and working via WiFi. both unachievable. but the bed was comfortable and the room was warm.

Tired hotel
The hotel is very old and tired. Nothing has been updated. The sink has a separate faucet for hot and cold water. The furniture in the rooms is old and the hallways are creaky. Would be charming if it were nicer.

Not a bad thing to say!
Stayed here for two nights, while on vacation on the South Coast. The location is exceptional for sightseeing, restaurants, bars/pubs, and shopping. Very convenient location near the pier, and a quick uber/cab trip from the train station. The staff is very accommodating, and was extremely helpful with any questions that I had. Our room was very comfortable, shower was clean and spacious, and the general cleanliness of the hotel was great. I didn't get a chance to eat at the restaurant, but it seemed quite nice. The only downside was that staying on the backside of the hotel, there was a bit of noise from neighbors well into the night, the second night of our stay, but that is obviously not the fault of the hotel, so just be wary if you stay on the back side. Otherwise, it was an excellent stay, and I would have no hesitation staying at the Queens again.
