Room was fine. Breakfast buffet was average, not great. Asked for a restaurant recommendation at front desk with some guidance that we were NOT looking for the kind of place that tourists go but rather someplace that the gentleman working at the front desk might take his own family or friends. He was offended by my asking the question even as gently as I did.....and then went on to point us straight toward — yes — an absolute tourist trap. (Sometimes that "please point me toward a restaurant that you'd take your own friends to when they are visiting" direction works perfectly with a hotel employee. It sure didn't this time, though.)

Mediocre hotel, great location
The best thing about this hotel is the combination of relative affordability and the location (right next to Bocconi University, a lively area with many cheap but good student restaurants and bars around, and walking distance from the city center). But don't expect much else from the hotel. I would say this is not a great place to stay if you plan spend much time in your hotel room. The rooms are tiny. They are clean, but not in good condition (the safe in my room was broken, and even after calling, no one came to repair; and the shower drain was slow). The reception desk is minimalist: they respond, but without a smile, or without any extra effort to help you when needed. The breakfast is decent.

Overall it is a good hotel, however the floor of my room was quite dusty which conflicts with findings from my friends that stayed there same days other rooms. Breakfast is very good, with a nice staff also.

Hotel D'Este
We stayed at the hotel in October for 5 nights in a triple bed room. It was very comfortable, clean and quiet. Breakfast was good with great variety. The location in a lovely neighborhood, is fantastic next to tram no. 9. We walked to Naviglio. Definitely recommended!
