6/10 Good

Centric and convenient, BUT...
As a frequent, international traveler, I cut a lot of slack to hotels during the post-pandemic travel boom, as many are understaffed and overwhelmed. But Barceló SD felt like it was an unnecessarily uncomfortable exprience.
I will start highlighting the good things. I liked how conveniently located it was, centric between the zona colonial and the airport, making it easy to call a cab or an affordable uber trip to any places of interest within the Capital.
The breakfast buffet was hands down the best I've ever seen in a hotel, having many international and local options for a diversity of travelers. For the added price, you can easily find more affordable options outside if you're open to it, but most tourists will find something they like there.
Now onto the not-so-good: The check-in process was the slowest ever, although we came in a few hours later than check-in time precisely to avoid waiting for our room. There was no line, the room was available, our documents were all available, but the front desk staff was in no hurry to get us checked in.
What I disliked the most was the room, although roomy, the restroom needed plumbing maintenance both on the toilet and sink. The AC system couldn't remove the high levels of humidity of the room. All our clothes felt and smelled damp, and every day I'd wake up with allergies.
