Hotel Leon d'Oro, Verona
A little dated but wonderful
I had read a few reviews and almost passed up the wonderful stay I had. In the end the great location won out and I’m so happy it turned out so well. The reception staff was super friendly and professional. I speak Italian but I saw many of the staff speaking in English. The room was large and comfortable. The WiFi was fast and easy to use. The breakfast was very good and the friendly staff worked quickly to clean and resupply anything about to run out. Cleanliness was perfect. I only regret my stay was so short

This is a completely stunning hotel. I don't know if I got insanely lucky when it came to price but I felt like I got a steal on a luxury hotel at a motel price. The entire place was gorgeous and fairly central, I personally walked everywhere though that may be more walking than most people would enjoy, but even a cab ride would not have been far to the city center. Also the breakfast was an amazing feast rarely seen in hotels. Honestly I spent multiple days during the rest of my trip wishing I was back here.

On this trip we decided to go to Verona and Padua between the two F1 races of SPA and Monza. The hotel is easy to park, breakfast and clean. Too far to walk to the old city with the summer weather.
