Weekend Football City Stay
I visited to watch the football finals at the MCG. Having stayed at Best Western previously, it immediately came to mind being ideally placed near Southern Cross Station and accessible from the rest of the city via the free tram network. I flew in after work on Friday, but the reception and entrance being manned 24 hours meant that checkin was easy and quick. Despite the "shoebox" size in the room description, it felt more than comfortable and spacious for one, and it was nice to enjoy the views of Spencer and Flinders St from the window. It was mostly quiet although one can hear trains as they run higher than street level. The later (11am) checkout than most meant that I could do a little more in the CBD beforrehand, and they were more than happy to store my bags for the day before heading to the airport. Will be keen to stay again, and hope the cafe downstairs can reopen as it was nice last time!

Good location. Short walk to Southern Cross Station or Crown Casino. Modern functional room. Bathroom best described as "Petite". Room is double glazed but didn't fully block out train noise from Metropolitan trains. Staff are very attentive & helpful.

Tea cups not cleaned or replaced, rubbish bins not cleared daily, milk and tea bags not replenished, train noise outside all night (better sound insulation required) Noise from other guests outside the room door late at night, tiny bathrooms, hot/cold showers were almost impossible to control.

Good Hotel with extremely Small Bathroom
The Hotel condition was okay, room was spacious but the bathroom was really really small!! It’s was terrible to use the bathroom as it was extremely small which is very difficult to imagine and use! The staff were awesome and the proximity to CBD is thumbs up.
