NOT FOR ADULTS TRYING TO RELAX
This is NOT a relaxing place, it's overcrowded with children, about 9 per 1 adult. Ninety percent of their activities are for children. It's impossible to swim because the five pools are extremely full of kids; the pool rules ARE NOT enforced, people get in without showering and without swimming clothes. The lobby is extremely crowded at all times, they even have a kareoki and a mechanic bull. As you walk-in, you get a feeling of being in a town plaza on a holiday. Perfect for big families, but not for couples. Don't ever get the 300's rooms, you won't sleep.

Not staying here again...
Upon arrival we had to wait a while to check in. We got an uncomfortable bracelet we had to wear at all times. Our hotel key worked once and then the next time it had to be used it wouldn't work. I made several trips to the reception desk because of this issue and each time they said I shouldn't place the card directly against my cell phone (I didn't carry a cell phone...) The condition of the room was decent. The sheets were rough, pillows were hard and so was the mattress. The shower was terrible, it alternated from hot to cool water. We had a nice view of the beach from our room, however it was also very close to the bar where they had live music until very late at night. If you're looking for a party hotel and don't really care where you sleep as long as you have a fantastic view of the beach, then this is your hotel. Needless to say we only stayed here one night. We stayed a few more days in Mazatlan in another much nicer hotel. I expected a bit more luxury for the price of this hotel.

This hotel is a little dated, but I still recommend it if you are in town on a tighter budget. There are more expensive hotels in the area, but for the price, this one is good and it is in a very good location close to everything.

Awesone place to stay! We'll be going back.
We stayed for 5 nights. Have been to the hotel 2 times previously, and have always loved it. The last time was 17 years ago. Not much has changed (which I LOVED), except for the quality of food. You used to be able to order off a menu and now it is primarily buffet style. I missed the opportunity to order a meal of my choice and have it fixed fresh.

Hotel Playa Mazatlan for families only
It is a very nice place from the front, however it is very Loud and "echo-y". The reviews I had read were how friendly the staff is. I didn't get that 'vibe' .....only from the Bellboys. The Front Desk people were 'eh' with no welcome or smile. There was no safe in my room although the coffee packets were a nice touch. The free breakfast was not for me ....I love powdered eggs but these were disgusting (said with Ham but really chopped hot dogs). The beach is nice. Too many screaming children in pool areas. Very old and beat hotel. Not for me.
