Clean, comfortable & great staff.
Located about a 12-14 min walk from the Oslo central station so a bit out of the way but not bad. Staff were extremely helpful, especially late night staff Rafael. They also have a hostel next door. Stayed here 2 nights. Able to store luggage in between while we took trip to Bergen.

Nice hotel, so-so neighbourhood
Breakfast was great. Hotel was clean. Food selection in the bar area is almost non-existent. The location is good and bad. Very close to a great pedestrian only area with shops, bars, and restaurants on Torggata. Only a 15 minute walk from the train station. That being said... When you walk from the train station, DO NOT walk down Storgata. I keep hearing about how safe Norway is, but I was literally stepping over syringes on this street and dodging homeless people who were clearly drugged out of their minds. There were hoodlums standing on the corners, and even a guy pissing in the street.

Anker Hotel is tops!
this hotel is very conveniently located. Many outstanding restaurants are just walking distance away. One of the standout feature about the hotel is their outstanding breakfast! It's a FULL service FREE breakfast with a big variety of top quality foods. ranging from eggs, sausage, cereals, yogurts etc. Americans need to be aware that this hotel does not have air conditioning, which isn't really needed because it's Norway and the summers are very pleasant and comfortable. But the natural fresh air that comes through the spacious windows are just outstanding! I highly recommend this hotel!
