Clean, safe, cost effective
Overall, staff is very good. The room is nice with plenty of amenities. Breakfast is OK with a wide variety. WiFi in the room and throughout the hotel is very good, reaching out to the coffee shops in the shopping area. Two minor issues came up. One, they advertise 'crispy' bacon at breakfast, sadly it is not even close. Too high a risk for me. Other issue was HHonors clerk. I booked through an agency vs. booking direct. Price included WiFi and breakfast. He claimed it did not, although he gave me free WiFi (made it clear he was doing me a favor), in the future free WiFi is only available if booking is done worth Conrad or HHonors directly. There is even a sign on the wall that says this as well. Seems there needs to be a conversation between the Hotel and third party companies that book hotels, so the customer is not caught in the middle. I went with the third party as their rate was much, much lower for same deal. It was the clerk's pretentious attitude that turned me off, and at the HHonors counter as well. Sad. But, for what I paid it is very good value. Plenty of shops and restaurants inside, banks, close to many other areas of interest. Always clean and housekeeping is wonderful.

Breakfast dilemma that spoiled our stay
It has been more than 2 months since our 6-day family trip to Bangkok in end-April / early-May. The purpose was for us to visit and spend time with our overseas relatives in Bangkok, Thailand. But due to some technical glitches at booking confirmation, I had to call in and confirmed everything on phone. Breakfast was requested. But when we checked in the hotel and asked at hotel desk, nobody could confirm about this. Thus, during our entire stay, we decided not to take breakfast at the hotel, so as to avoid any risk of double-charging. Unfortunately, it turned out to be very inconvenient to us, because we were with 3 seniors and 1 young kid. But when we checked out at the last day, we reviewed the billing statement and were upset that we had been charged for breakfast on every single day. We told its front desk colleague of what had happened, and she checked on her system and immediately revised the billing statement for us. Its manager offered her profuse apology, but there was not much she could do because our was not a direct booking to the hotel. She was sincere, walked us to our taxis and said goodbye to us. But I honestly told her that this breakfast dilemma had really spoiled our mood, and together with the drainage problem at shower-rooms inside our rooms, we would probably not come back and stay there again.

Exceptional 10.0
Amazing pool, friendly helpful staff
Ribbon at check-in was so nice she hand-picked for me a room based on my view preference and gave me a room with a wonderful view of Bangkok. The room is beautiful with dark wood and traditional Thai decor and a beautiful bathroom. I like the little elephants they put on the bed and in the soaking tub-- it's a really nice touch. I learned after my stay that they have a toiletries menu and one can try different brands of shampoo and body wash. I wish I had known that when I was there. The pool is amazing. It is very large and kept immaculately clean. All the times I visited the pool (which was many) there was never more than a few guests using it. Very good gym and steam room/sauna. The buffet breakfast is very good. Also, I highly recommend the daily seafood buffet. I didn't discover it until my last day, but had I discovered it sooner I would have repeated. Out on the main road of the hotel, Witthayu (Wireless road) there is delightful little street market with all kinds of street food and some shopping and a Family Mart (like 7-11). It's really bustling on weekday mornings with all the Thais going to work. The hotel is also connected to All Seasons Place which has a small upscale mall and a Top's market which is a grocery store. There is a free mini bus from the hotel to the nearest bts station (Ploenchit) or if you walk it takes about 10 mins. It leaves every 5 minutes during peak hours and every 15 minutes non peak. It runs from 7a.m. to 9p.m., I think.

Good 5-star hotel but slower cleaning service.
It lived up to our expectations consistent with the 5-star hotels we've stayed around the world. The room, amenities, food and check-in, check-out were all positive experiences. However, we noticed that room cleaning starts quite late in our room, usually after lunch which is our time for a nap. On one occasion, I requested for the cleaner to be back in a couple of hours because she wanted to clean when I was about to have my siesta, but she said she had to eat or have a break and will be back to clean my room around 6pm. Definitely peculiar cleaning times which is not the usual practice of other 5-star hotels which usually tidy up the room in the morning and offers turndown service at night. Otherwise, the hotel is up to the usual good standards.

Room is excellent but swimming pool...
I was staying there by my self. I don't know if i understand wrong, every room including 2 people breakfast ( cuz I chose the room with breakfast)in my perspective. I came to breakfast with my friend who lives in BKK then the reception charged me my friend meal payment. They said my room has booked for only one person so they have to charge the other breakfast with is unusual compared to the other hotels. furthermore, if you book the room for 1 or 2 person , it doesn't bring any price difference. and Breakfast is very awful, they ran out of some menus and it never be filled up again. The reason why I choose this hotel was all because of swimming pool in the picture. It was just small. that's it. I've only satisfied with the room and view. I wouldn't be able to use this hotel txt time visiting.
