Large suites!
I went to Seattle with my girlfriend to celebrate our anniversary. We were looking for a hotel close to the space needle for a reasonable price and came across The Marqueen. Overall, I am happy with our choice. The location is ideal for restaurants and tourism, at the same time, the end of the block that it's located on is quiet so noise is not much of an issue. The hotel has a ton of charm. We stayed on the 3rd floor mainly because of the wood floors. (I'm not a big fan of hearing walking feet throughout the night). No elevators so if you choose the highest floor, be prepared to exercise. The unit was larger than expected. It's really a little suite complete with a kitchen with a full size refrigerator, a stove and a breakfast table. Too cool! The hotel is very old, and can't speak for the other units, but the floor is very creaky. If anything, that would be my only gripe. Oh, and the position of the living room tv is odd as it's located inside an older model entertainment piece, which makes it unviewable at a certain angle. Everything else was perfect and I'd definitely stay here again.

Great hotel with great staff, my only complaint was that it smelled a little funny. I blew this off as it just being old but maybe they could freebez.

Older boutique hotel
Our room was very old and plaster on ceiling in bathroom and hallway was cracked and looked as if it could fall at any time. Room smelled musty, bedding old, bed extremely hard, floor creaked when we walked. Hole in wall. Has potential to be a nice older boutique hotel but sadly neglected. Will not stay there again.

Convenient, affordable, great location
This hotel is in a historic apartment building so the rooms are large but they are dated. The service at the counter and from the valet were prompt and friendly. There's no shower but I really enjoy the grand staircase that leads up to the rooms and it's not that bad a climb. My room was clean and looked out on the busy street in front of the hotel. As an old building, the sound insulation isn't great - I could hear some people in the hallway. The shower controls could/should be updated or labeled, but water pressure was good.
