For an average cost of $270/night, this was one of the worst values for a hotel that I have ever experienced and I have traveled literally around the world. Other than it's good location and some helpful staff, the hotel was a disaster. 1) The 7 outdoor a/c units thumped continuously on the 4th floor. It was like a throbbing headache. On the 4th floor w/canal view, one could not get an internet connection for longer than 15 SECONDS and then it would cut off. The 112 square foot room was poorly laid out and made the small space feel even smaller. The hotel did NOT supply bottles of water as most hotels do today. The 1 elevator was out of service for an entire day. The toilet small flush button did not work and the large flush button look like it was going to fall out of the wall at any second. Sometimes the large flush would not stop flushing and had to push again and again to finally get it to stop. And, the pillow (that's right, one pillow per person) was hard foam (I think) that could not be bent in any way without just popping back into its flat, hard position. Then, there was the fat guy at the front desk one evening who got really annoyed that I asked for my room key and then returned it 2 minutes later after I had run up the stairs (elevator not working) to get something I forgot. 2) Only good news, I got to change rooms the 2nd night to avoid the outside A/Cs. Of course,the extra I paid for a "canal view" was lost and I didn't get a refund.

Great location, great breakfast buffet. The staff was very helpful & polite. Just wish the shower was a bit bigger and the bed a bit softer- but for traveling in a big city in Europe- I would say it was a pretty typical experience. -Spoiled American

Great Location and Service
The front desk service was excellent they were very helpful, in giving directions to the Hotel and information regarding the surrounding area which is filled with restaurants and shopping. This Hotel is very near San Marcos plaza a 2 minute walk. They didn't have the AC on so we had to sleep with the Windows open which was comfortable until the mosquitoes that came during the night. The breakfast was very good. We enjoyed our stay for one night before our cruise. Would stay here again minus the mosquitoes.

Poor guest services
The stay was fine, staff was courteous. However, we left something at the hotel, and have been unable to get anyone to help. Every time I talk to someone, they say I need to call later or talk to someone else. This has been going on for 5 days. I’m quite sure that by now, the item we left is long gone. Sadly it contained a disc full of family photos from the last 3 years as well as pictures of our trip. Not high in value, but extremely sentimental. Very poor customer service.
