Beautiful hotel and property. Expensive everything
Beautiful hotel and property. Expensive everything. Loved the amenities but, boy, at what cost. The base price of the hotel was fair enough but all the added costs were almost offensive. $35 additional per day resort fee. For stuff we virtually never used except maybe an hour of internet. $27 per day for parking ($37 if you don’t want to walk several blocks each way for self parking). $37 breakfast buffet. Equally expensive other food and goods on the property. Surrounded by high priced stores, only grocery store within 1/2 hour drive is high priced “gourmet “ shop. Find another option. On the plus side, the Luau there was the best. And we’ve been to a few. Swimming in the lagoon was pretty cool. Monorail and boat were fun (but when it’s the only way to get around and has long wait times it ceases being as much fun).

Partial view is not necessarily a good view
This was our second visit. We stayed in the Palace Tower last year, with a view of the golf course. It was nice but there was a long walk to the lobby and most of the shops and restaurant unless you caught the train. We decided to try the Lagoon Tower this year, at quite a price hike, to get a better view and be in a better location. The view was so much worse. When they say Partial Ocean view, they mean mostly parking lot view. There was a Partial Ocean view, they were not misleading there but there is no mention of what the rest of the view is. As I was sitting drinking my coffee on the lanai, the only thing I could see was the parking lot and the top of a building. If I stood up, I could see the ocean in the distance. We were quite disappointed with that but that was the only thing that was wrong. The service was fantastic, the location was great and we had a wonderful time. We will stay there again but carefully consider the extra $75 a night for the location. It won't be for the view.
