The hotel itself is lovely, absolutely immaculate and the staff are so friendly and helpful. The rooms are to a high standard and the communal areas are fresh, clean and modern. Step outside the gates and there is rubbish everywhere, bins well past over flow on the streets with the heat… you can imagine the smell. Unfortunately there are no restaurants or shops within walking distance, crossing the road is taking your life in your hands, really busy and people don’t stop for you. The only option for restaurants/ shops is getting a bus for approx 40 mins to Catania central, they are regular
