Excellence in Customer Service
My husband & I took our 9 year old to a football camp that was being held in Phoenix. The camp was over by noon and we were going to go to the Zoo but it was so hot we decided to call the hotel and ask if we could check in earlier. David (front Desk) was beyond helpful and polite. He said our room would be ready in 45 minutes. When we got there just as promised, room ready and I had requested the 1st floor which we got. The hotel itself is very nice, clean and the rooms are quite large. Later in in the evening I needed a couple of things and unfortunately I didn't get the names of the gentleman who were at the front desk, but again excellence in customer service and very friendly. We will stay here again and again since we go to many football camps in and around the Phoenix area. Even if it is 45 minutes from where we are going it doesn't matter. The hotel is very kid friendly, and we actually met some wonderful people while there. Only drawback is the hotel itself is very very hard to find. GPS & google maps have it wrong. And you cannot see it from Scottsdale Road. It is behind Carrababas restaurant, but if you get lost and end up at the Marriot across the street, they will give you directions, very helpful. Great hotel, wonderful staff all and all a very nice weekend.

NOT "Pet Friendly"!
This place is a RIP OFF. I booked this room for one night through Hotels.com at a final rate of $90 for the night. I was bringing my Basset Hound into Scottsdale for Emergency Vet care. Hotels.com stated there "may be" a pet charge. But these thieves charged me a $109 Pet Fee. MORE THAN THE ENTIRE ROOM CHARGE. I disclosed that I had a pet with me, and would have no problem with a REASONABLE fee. Other Hotels charge $10, $15, or $20, NOT a charge higher than the whole room cost. I called to talk to a representative, but was told (rudely) that it was disclosed on the web site that there was a fee and "I should have ASKED how much the fee was," but there was no way to do that on Hotels.com. PET LOVERS STAY AWAY! They advertise as "PET FRIENDLY" but charge MORE for a pet to stay, than a human. And to top it off, the hotel was undergoing renovations, with noise, dust and dirt throughout.

Good
Disappointing
I stayed here four days. On two of those days the elevator in my building would mysteriously stop working. The room I was in had an overwhelming smell of asian or indian food being cooked in the room at some point. I understand these units have kitchens and people will cook in them, but something needs to be done with room 224 to get the smell out. The breakfast area, although it seemed to be staffed quite well, was never clean. There was stuffed dropped on the floor, the garbage was always full and the dish return was not emptied regularly. My biggest complaint about this property, though, is their use of motion sensor, centrally controlled thermostats. I get they are in the desert and don't want to wast money on electricity, but I guarantee you will be driven mad by the fact that, if you don't move around while in your room, your A/C will shut off. I worked in my room one day and had to constantly get up and walk around the room to get the A/C to turn back on. It was beyond annoying.

Very good stay
We did not see this place from the street, so had to double back to find it. It's behind a couple of restaurants. Check in was quick & painless. The chap working the desk gave us some good ideas for dinner within walking distance. We were there on a Monday so they had a social hour at 6pm with free beer & wine, cheese & crackers, etc. It was a fun time and we met some other guests. Breakfast was hot and plentiful, well tended with plenty of coffee & juice. Our room was BIG & comfortable with a full kitchen, including dishwasher. Our only complaint was a $20 charge to my credit card. I called today about it and was told it was just a hold and it would be released in 72 hours. Will check again. Never had that happen before.

Poor
Too loud, seriously... we left early.
It's Arizona, and it was hot... Arizona hot. The room's AC unit is powerful but, that means it's loud. And I mean, LOUD. It also isn't consistent so when it turns up to high power it sounds like an explosion and then a cycling 60 decibel booming. I tried every trick in the book. Used ear plugs on top of other ear plugs. Got new ones. Tried to sleep with AC off but the room jumps to 80+ degrees in a few hours. It's a great hotel, but bottom line, if you are even a "sort of" sensitive sleeper, you will leave, as we did. Just not a tenable situation. The front desk knows it. They are new AC units , and the complaints were consistent from that they said. Bottom line: This hotel is a no.
