Nice property / parking is far.
I was not happy with being told I could not do a free upgrade that comes with my GOLD status with Hotels.com. I did not raise a fuss about it,but know that the reservation agent was incorrect in telling me he cannot offer an upgrade unless I had JW rewards. Found out he was new so hopefully he learns how to apply the hotel.com upgrades! The parking is $23 a day and a bit of a walk. The pool is nice but food stops being serviced at 5pm, to me that seemed early but then again, I live in Vegas LOL. This is a nice location for sure.

Not worth the price… way better hotels in the area
This hotel can’t decide what type of costumer they want to attract…single young adults, couples or Families. There’s lawn games and a splash pad for the kids… but no child friendly dining… especially at the pool after 6pm. And you cannot bring outside food in. Btw it does not say that anywhere online … so we arrived at 6 with the hungry kids and very few food options. There was loud music going on Friday night Until after 11pm. And sound healing at 8am in the lawn so kids could not play. There also no diaper changing area in the pool bathrooms. Oh and There was a bachelorette party running around the lawn screaming at 3am. There lots of young gals in thong bikinis at the pool which is incredibly inappropriate for a family setting. The pools are beautiful but need to be re-surfaced. They tore up my kids feet and ripped my bathing suit. This hotel is not worth the price… there are better options in the area that cater to specific clientele. The Hyatt at gainey ranch is way better for families! The Scott is better for young adults and couples.

Nice but One and Done for us
It was a good hotel. Huge, with good restaurants, but whatever the opposite of cozy is, this is it. Great for conferences for sure. But a getaway with my wife? Not again. It didn’t help that they were closing the only store with classic provisions, and there was construction going on by the pool.

Enjoyed my stay at the JW Marriott Phoenix Desert Ridge. The property has beautiful grounds, swimming pools, and facilities including a state of the art pickelball complex. The gym is also excellent. Desert Ridge Marketplace (5 minute drive) has several great dining options. While many amenities appear newly renovated, there are aspects of the room/property that appear a bit dated (ex. elevator, bathrooms). Would love to see more southwest cultural design elements throughout the hotel (similar to the décor of Tia Carmen restaurants). Overall, I would highly recommend this hotel for families or individuals looking for a great wellness getaway.
