Overall state of the room/property was a bit dingy. Linens and towels were clean, but bathroom/shower had mold/mildew visible and was in serious need of a rehab. For the money, I would have expected better and won’t choose to stay here again.

No frills, close to boardwalk
Its a place to sleep with hot water. This a no frills hotel close to the boardwalk. It was clean, the beds were okay. The parking lot is interesting small spaces and steep. If you are a flatlander or have a LARGE car you might have issues parking. It is on a hill, as you can see from images therefore not very accessible for some.

Fireside Inn is in the perfect location for visiting the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk. You can easily walk a couple blocks and enter the arcade area and explore the rides and attractions! There is also a cafe and bowling alley across the street from the motel that you can explore. The rooms are very clean and comfortable. And the staff is very welcoming! I arrived way earlier than my check in time but Lily the manager let us park at the hotel lot so we could explore the boardwalk while the room was prepared. She was able to get my room ready early and called me to let me know. It was such an accomodating gesture and made us feel very at home. I would definitely recommend a stay at the Fireside Inn!

Traveled with family
The room was shabby, the only source of heat was a small vent in the wall that took forever to warm the room, the water was hot, which was good, and had a good shower head, but the bathtub looked like it had been repaired over and over and over, with caulk and plaster all over it. The one good thing it was close to the boardwalk.
