We stayed from oct.20-23. On oct 22 they relocated us to a conference room in their sister hotel in downtown puerto vallarta, with hundreds of people due to a incoming hurricane. After 6 hours of waiting, they finally admitted that they were no rooms for us to spend the night and expected us to stay in the conference room with tables and chairs. Though when you check nearby hotels they were plenty but they will not help. We had no choice but to book a hotel for the night as we will not sleep on the floors of a conference room. Before leaving I spoke with the concierge and other staff as far as getting compensated and refunded the last night , and everyone I talked to was “ofcourse, we willl” . After the trip , it took a week for Secrets bahia mita to respond and they decided to not refund any night despite what they had promised. I contacted them again and they said they will get back with me options, they decided again to refuse us with any compensation. Secrets Bahia failed on handling the hurricane properly and taking care of their guests, even the bare minimum of refunding the night we did not stay at their property they refuse to do. I will never stay at this resort nor at any of their other property. They completely ruined my trip and could care less about their guest, all they care about is keeping their money.

My husband and I stayed here for our honeymoon and were so happy with our experience! The resort was absolutely beautiful and had plenty to do as well as help you set up excursions. We got massages one day which were phenomenal and another day they helped us set up an excursion to Mariettas Island (definitely recommend!) The resort is still pretty new and you can definitely tell- it was impressively clean (even at the poolside bathrooms!). It was a lot bigger than we had imagined so there was quite a bit of walking to get places but we did not mind. The restaurants were all great- our favorites were Bordeaux, Olio and Portofino. The service was always spectacular and the foods were delicious and had plenty variety. We never really went over to the Dreams side but it was nice to be able to go if we wanted. The pools were also great, we spent most of our time at the swim up bar so we could get a drink whenever we wanted. The 8th floor Preferred area pool was also a great spot to get easy service and for a more quieter relaxing environment. The entertainment at night was a nice touch- we were to the Rock Show and the Fire Show and both were very entertaining! We will definitely be searching for more Secrets resorts because of this stay!

This is the second AMR property I've stayed in, this time choosing the Secrets Adults only option. Since the Dreams resort was in the same location we were able to use practically all the amenities. It was nice to have some adult only dining and pool options for some extra quiet. All the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. Drinks of course were plentiful. We weren't able to try all the dining options to give a full opinion on the food. What we did try was good, but nothing to write home about.
