Unfortunately Not Up To Par
Let me preface this by stating we understand that Hurricane Ian really affected the place and that the surrounding area consists mostly of senior citizens.
We arrived late on a Wednesday evening after our flight was delayed, checking in just short of 10pm. There was not one single food option available on site for dinner. We asked the front desk for help and they suggested McDonald's or Taco Bell. We asked if they had a vending machine on the property, which they did not. We were lucky to find a restaurant that served food after 11pm after three attempts via Yelp. What hotel doesn't offer late food options? And what hotel doesn't have a vending machine as a last resort?
On two of the three mornings of our stay, our coffee order was messed up; if it were once, we recognize mistakes happen. But twice with these prices for coffee?
The bar on site was very nice, but the acoustics in there were quite bad. Its shape mixed with the materials of the walls and windows made it difficult to relax and enjoy with drunk bridesmaids behind us. Beer selections there were also not up to par, but supply chain could have been an issue.
Overall, we just expected more for the price of a resort. It's completely understandable that recovery from the hurricane can play a role, but the resort in the next town over didn't have these issues when we stayed there for the next few nights. (Spoiler alert: the second resort in the next town over is owned by the same company.)
