Room was dirty, Stay was very uncomfortable
We are a couple in our 20s. We regret that we stayed in this hotel. In our opinion, it was one of the dirtiest hotels we have ever stayed in. See the photos for details. # Main room: There were dirt on most of the corners of the room. There was no AC, but I guess it is common for hotels in Banff (at least that's what the front desk of this hotel told me). I found a fan in the room. It was very very dirty. But the room was so hot to begin with, we had to use the fan anyway :( One of the two queen beds had stained bed sheet. One of the lamp-shades had stain on it. The net-door of the balcony was also dirty. # Bathroom: Water clogged up quickly when I started the faucet on the basin. Water doesn't drain very fast. Same thing for the bathtub. I had to stop the water in the middle of my shower so that water can drain a bit. There were dirts on all corners of the bathroom. # Analysis: We stayed here for 200 CAD (+tax) on the 4th-of-july week in 2016 (maybe that's why it was a bit pricy). But later we wished that we had spent more 40~50 CAD for a better hotel. Think of this way: if you get value '1000' from spending 200 CAD (value/expense=1000/200=5), and if you get value '3000' from spending 250 CAD (value/expense=3000/250=12 > 5), what would you do? If you can afford, spending the extra 50 CAD is far better than trying to save it. # Conclusion: The entire experience left us very very uncomfortable. We will avoid this hotel in the future.

Family vacation with older teen kids
Reading some of these reviews made me a little nervous but wanting to stay right in Banff this hotel was the best price. It was a great hotel. Yes it could use a little updating and a few repairs but it was clean, the room was spacious, and the views were spectacular. Upon reservations make sure you ask for a room with a view. I think there are balconies on all rooms but some overlook the parking lot. We could see wildlife in our balcony each night. It is also on the edge of town so you are not right in the heart of downtown but for us that was ok. It is within walking distance but may be too long to walk with young children. If you are looking for a comfortable hotel in Banff and you are not expecting a 5 star hotel on a 3 star budget, this is the place for you. Also miles of biking and jogging trails right outside the front door. We were happy with this hotel for our stay.

Don't Stay Here
This hotel was dirty, our room had corn chips on the floor from previous occupants and our coffee maker didn't work. I informed the front desk and nothing was ever done to clean our room or replace the coffee maker. The hotel was filled with large international bus tours who would descend on the restaurant leaving small families to wait up to 30 minutes or find a breakfast alternative. The worst part is that the rate I was charged per night was much higher than the one I reserved through The only good thing is the location...but for 240$ a night I expect a clean carpet and at least a marginal attempt at customer service. I would never stay there again.

Some Good. Some Bad.
Road trip from CA to Chicago and stopped in Banff to enjoy the mountains. Inns at Banff is in a great location with a terrific staff but the rooms were disappointing. One room in the main building was okay but a bit rundown and the screen to get out to the balcony was a complete wreak. The room in the Swiss Village was also rundown and had a wet spot that never dried on the floor and a candy wrapper from a previous guest still in the room. That said the staff was very nice, the location cannot be beat and they provide passes for the local bus.
