Some Good. Some Bad.
Road trip from CA to Chicago and stopped in Banff to enjoy the mountains. Inns at Banff is in a great location with a terrific staff but the rooms were disappointing. One room in the main building was okay but a bit rundown and the screen to get out to the balcony was a complete wreak. The room in the Swiss Village was also rundown and had a wet spot that never dried on the floor and a candy wrapper from a previous guest still in the room. That said the staff was very nice, the location cannot be beat and they provide passes for the local bus.

Fairly Priced Access to the Rocky Mountain Parks
We went to Banff to enjoy the national park and the back country, not to shop and dine in luxury, so economy and convenience were key. Banff, as one would expect at a national park entry city, is not a cheap place to stay. We thought Inns of Banff was well located (not right in town but a reasonable walk) and fairly priced. Rooms were clean, perhaps could use a little updating. Outdoor pool is a WONDERFUL place ot enjoy a relaxing mountain view (indoor one was closed and under repair). Staff were courteous and particularly helpful when we had car trouble and needed referrals on a capable mechanic. This inn, like most in Banff, regularly has large bus tours, often people speaking a different primary language. Understand, as we did for the most part, that people not a part of such big tours often are second in line to the needs of the bigger groups. At times, we were just that. Some of the group tour people were downright rude, cutting in front of us to have their issues resolved first and fastest. Inn's employees did their best to deal with such situations. North American tourists seem to show more common courtesies than do those from Asia and Europe from what we experienced on this trip.

We were there 2 nights. Bathroom had moldy flooring that needs to be replaced. Furniture was in poor shape.

Great Value, Good Ckicken Wings
Three days of skiing in Banff, unfortunately over Easter Holidays and the accompanying throngs of tourists, but the hotel was quiet and clean and has a great outdoor hot pool. Twenty minute walk to downtown Banff. Great chicken wings in the hotel pub.
