About Royal West Indies Resort, Providenciales

Facing the white sands of Grace Bay Beach, the Royal West Indies Resort is located on the beautiful north shore of Providenciales Island in the Turks and Caicos chain. Known as Provo, the island is the most developed in the chain and boasts a natural deep harbor and a barrier reef that is popular with divers. The apartments are 0.3 miles (0.5 kilometers) from both the Provo Golf Club and shopping and dining venues. Grace Bay Beach, which has been touted as the number-one beach on the planet, mingles with tranquil, crystal blue waters that are great for swimming due to the reef and lack of rocks. Recreational possibilities include fishing, parasailing, scuba diving, and golfing, as well as treatments at Spa Tropique. A variety of restaurants inhabit the island, serving Mexican, Caribbean, Mediterranean, French, and other forms of international cuisine.

Relaxing Beach Vacation
We had a lovely weekend at the Royal West Indies Resort. We stayed in a studio garden view room and it was very nice, clean, and spacious. The Resort is right on Grace Bay and a beautiful beach. Each unit is individually owned condo and have a little kitchenette. We road the resorts free bikes down the road to the store and bought drinks, snacks, and breakfast foods. We had diner one night in the resort restaurant and it was delicious, around $120 for two, no alcohol. We found food in T&C to be expensive even lunch at Da Conch Shack was $60. We went by taxi to the islands Thursday Fish Fry and the was delicious and entertaining. We had fish and lobster dinner from one of the local caterers and it was good and reasonably priced. There are lots of vendors selling handmade goods and tourist souvenirs. Overall a relaxing beach vacation.

The Perfect Reset
Beautiful resort and we saw them all. Free use of sailboats, kayaks, and snorkel rental. I would say this is just about the nicest property we saw and especially for the money. I still do not understand why Sands has many more mentions. West Indies tops the Sands and the Ocean Club Resorts by far. The ONLY downfall would be that there is no gym

Location is everything
The hotel was very nice however, the location meant that we had to take a taxi everywhere. This costs a bit more and didn't allow us the luxury of walking around each day. It also limited us on our choices to eat; especially breakfast and lunch. We are used to staying closer to the downtown area. Also they did not provide water to their guests, not even at the beach or pool area. Bottled water is free at other resorts we've stayed at. Here we had to go to the grocery store and by it. The resort charged $2 or $4 a bottle depending on where you got it: front desk or restaurant. They had no music anywhere on the resort; not even at the bar/restaurant. This created a lack of ambiance.
