I absolutely loved the hotel and the staff were great. My only complaint is that they had an outdated heating system including steam radiators. One was right next to the bed and it was loud and got incredibly warm at night.

Misery
I booked a couple day staycation (my home being renovated down the block)- I am super disappointed by my stay- my bf was able to meet from our of town and this place made our stay awful- it was my bday, I booked a simple one queen bed room, I showed up in morning to leave my luggage with no help whatsoever to carry your stuff from your car to front desk couple floors up (no elevators ) - I was nicely welcomed initially, when I returned late at night it was a sinister disaster- the front desk guy was miserable, with the upmost attitude- gives me a room with 3 BEDS! not one , not 2 but 3BEDS! it felt like we were staying in a dorm-room or HOSTEL- I ask for the room type I booked only to be told not possible - but I can get it for $60 more a night (supposedly an upgrade) - I ONLY WANTED THE QUEEN ROOM I BOOKED! so instead of apologizing & get the upgrade , I need to pay for 2 nights upgrade- its been a disaster since- the manager tried to apologize & used the fact that I had a service dog to justify the fees =- DO NOT STAY THERE_

Great hotel in NYC
Great hotel - fantastic value for convenient location in nyc - great room layouts with multiple beds in each room to accommodate families - and really convenient for anyone visiting the Tenement Museum

The hotel's location is great, but the hotel is a bit run down. Our room was quite small, even for New York standards, and rather worn. Clean, but falling apart and poorly decorated. Worse, we had no hot water on the first day. After that, it became clear that you just had to let it run for a while (over 10 minutes) before it got warm. Also, the hotel was overrun by about 20 young women who were running up and down the hallways until midnight. Understandable that they were having fun, but at everyone's else's expense -- and the front desk did nothing to quiet them down. All in all, not a place I'd recommend for staying.
