Two thumbs up for InterContinental Presidente
Me and a friend traveling to Mexico City for the first time. Took a recommendation from another friend for the Polanco neighborhood and we wound up at the Intercontinental Presidente. I'd definitely stay again. Plus, once I arrived at the Presidente, I decided to join the Ambassador Club which comes with a free room upgrade, so we went from about the 15th floor with city view to the 42nd floor (of 42 floors) with a Chapultepic (sp?) Park view. Great location, great food/drinks in the neighborhood, safe, etc. Oh we also booked a room with breakfast each day which was expansive and yummy.

    Excellent location-walkable
If you want to walk around Polanco, then this is great hotel for that. Typical Intercontinental amenities, no free wifi. Plenty of bars, restaurants, coffee places to walk to.

    I would stay here again
What I enjoyed the most about this hotel was the service. I felt their staff went out of their way to make us feel comfortable and answer all of our questions. The location is outstanding. It is in an extremely safe are and still very close to the metro station if you want to avoid Mexico City’s traffic. If there is just one thing I didn’t like was how thin the walls were. I could hear the neighbor’s conversations which might be an issue if you’re a light sleeper but it wasn’t an issue for me.
