Rome's Hotel Centro
I got lost a little trying to find the hotel. Once there it was clean and small. Paperwork was in order and I was given a key. The elevator is tiny but it worked. The room was very plainly decorated-no picture etc on the walls and the walls needed a coat of paint. The balcony was tiny you could only stand there. I like the area of the hotel however,I will not stay here again.

One night before crulse. four nights after. The room had a balcony facing a blank walll and a high step into bath. The staff spent every effort to give us a nicer room. The staff was more than helpful. My only complaint was that I had to pay cash for the shuttle, I ran out of cash in a hurry. Bruno, did what he could to help but I did not have access to any account until I got on the boat. Credit card access would be of great help. We used HOP ON HOP OFF, the hotel arranged our ticket and the pick-up point was near. Bruno had arranged shuttle service to and from the airport and ship. Metro is is a 3 star hotel with 5 star service.

The room is small but it's clean. Breakfast was ok. The employees especially the receptionists are very friendly.

Close to the train station
The hotel was centrally located in the center of Rome. It was 5 min walk from the train station, 15-20 min from the HardRock Cafe, and 5 min from the hop on and hop off Ciao Rome bus tour. With a family of 4, the room we stayed was two twin size put together on two different rooms and two different bathrooms. One side of the room the A/C was working fine, but the cold air did not get to the second room and no windows. The breakfast was ok, typical Italian food of choice. We live in Italy, so we drove in our minivan and there is a parking garage nearby. The garage charges 35euros per 24hrs. WiFi sucks, you have to be in a certain spot of the room to get the signal, and you have to ask for the password from the reception desk. There are lots of places to eat within walking from the hotel and McDonald's at the corner of the street.

Great location, good value. Good breakfast
Fantastic location, close to Termini station and an easy walk to all the main sites. You won't need buses or metro. Hotel is simple and with character. We had a balcony on to the street which was a very welcome surprise. Hotel could do with some updating. Rooms and corridors need a coat of paint but fine at the price. Daily cleaning and bedding laundry is to a very high standard but the curtains hadn't been cleaned for many months or even years. Breakfast is excellent. The staff are all very friendly and helpful with the exception of one man who took over from the usual lady who does the breakfast for one day of our stay. He was seriously grumpy and incompetent. As there were no bowls or glasses out I used two cups for our orange juice. Mr grumpy took exception, came over and picked up the cups and shoved saucers underneath as though we were going to mark the tablecloths. This made no sense. Had I used a glass I wouldn't have used a saucer! When we left after half an hour he still hadn't replenished the bowls or glasses despite our asking. The crashing noises coming from the kitchen suggested he was probably breaking them. A very bad tempered man. Pity as the others were all lovely. We took it as a source of entertainment. The wifi was useable for email but very slow and kept cutting out. Overall a very good hotel in a fantastic location with a great breakfast. With little attention could be a great hotel. We certainly recommend it.
