Family group down for a wedding
Overall our stay was great. The rooms were nice, staff were friendly, the only disappointment was when we finally got to the hotel after delayed flights etc, we went to the restaurant downstairs and the meal took 50 minutes to come. Perhaps it was because we arrived at 8:30 and we were a biggish group but we ordered simple food. Anyway, after that the place was awesome, the beds and bedding are the most comfy we've had in a hotel, the location is awesome. Once we figured we could use the stairs between floors to visit the other family members ( a group of us went for a wedding) it was all easy. Great having the gym facility - small one on site and big one up the road. Great value for money, glad we booked this place, and would use it again.

Not so good
The only good thing about this hotel is the location and the friendly staff in the restaurant. There were a lot of bad things. We book two superior room and When we get there one of the room wasn't what we were expecting, it was so small and nothing similar to what you see in the photos on the website, we complain about and the reason for the room to be smaller was because it was an adjacent room with another that was occupied by another guest. the put a towel with holes we have to call reception to have it changed. another day after they clean the room they didn't leave any towels, the excuse was that the cleaning service is outsourced. The staff at the reception were really rude. In summary, i don't think we are coming back to this hotel next time that we are in Wellington.

Disappointing for the cost
No guest laundry, and no laundromat within walking distance. $10 for a clean shirt via the hotel. Hotel restaurant breakfast was awful, brown water for coffee (unless you order a $4.50 espresso), and limited buffet. Fortunately there are a number of good places nearby (the Americano was great with cook to order fresh food.) The hotel is on the steep side of the hill, so you have to take two elevators to get down to nearby restraunts and Lambron Quay. On the plus side, the room failed to annoy: high shower head, great view (facing harbour, but there were rooms facing the other way), comfy beds, and enough plugs. Computer video input for TV, and free (if modest speed) WiFi if you join their loyalty club for free on check-in. Close to the harbor and 10 min from Te Papa, but Cuba St is a 15 minute walk. Virtually next door to the cable car. Next time I'll stay closer to the harbor and verify laundry facilities.

Exceptional 10.0
Business trip. I have stayed here before. Arrived early and asked that they store my suitcase. The case was waiting for me in my room when I checked in later that night. Checked in after 7pm so had room service. Great meal, lovely staff member who delivered it. Room clean and tidy, had everything I needed. Bathroom was spotless and had a great mirror. Great selection of Tea and Coffee to chose from. Check out was speedy.

Very Good 8.0
The staff were very friendly and the rooms were well appointed. We had a twin room with 2 double beds. Unfortunately both beds were lumpy and you rolled into the centre. I mentioned to staff and was offered another room of the same category if I wanted. I declined as we were too tired to shift and only had 1 night left. If you want to dine in at the restaurant, you must book early. We missed out on 2 nights. Room service was great and very quick.
