About Hotel Apollo, Rome

Welcoming hotel near Colosseum

Colosseum down the street
This 3-star, family-run hotel is just down the street from the Colosseum. In fact, you can see the 2,000-year-old amphitheater when you step out the doors of the hotel – you can be there in 10 minutes. Cavour Metro Station is a couple of blocks.

Shopping then and now
Trajan’s Market, where Roman traders used to set out their stalls, is less than a 10-minute walk. For modern shoppers, it’s a 20-minute walk to Via Condotti at the foot of the Spanish Steps. You'll find any number of Italian designer stores there, including Prada and Valentino.

Hotel Apollo has a small bar, and WiFi is available throughout the property for a surcharge as well Buffet Breakfast.

Traditional touch
Rooms are well maintained and quiet, with traditional decor – think handsome wood furnishings and reproductions of classic Italian paintings. Modern amenities include satellite TV, minibars, and WiFi.

Hotel Apollo, Rome
Location was great. Family room was large, but they are located in another building with an elevator that starts on the second floor. Room condition was fair (mold on the bathroom walls and in the shower), and beds could use some updating (the sofa bed doesn't even lay kids slept with their feet elevated above their heads). Breakfast was ok. We will try another hotel in Rome next time.

Close to the Colosseum but not the Hotel
The room (studio) that we booked was not in the same location as the main hotel. It was about 5-10 minutes away by foot. The room was spacious with washer and dryer and the location was very close to the Colosseum. However, the ceilings were very low in the bathroom and we had to trek for breakfast each morning. The wifi connection was very good.

Wonderful visit
We were first time visitors to Rome. The employees were excellent in both their professional skills and eagerness to help us. Chiara was especially helpful and a dozen times went above and beyond to assist us. Language was no problem as their English was exceptional. Our room was not large but efficient and extremely comfortable. We also enjoyed the roof top breakfast several mornings. The waitstaff was friendly and we had delicious cappuccinos.
