Waited an hour after check in time before we got a room. The room smelled very mildewy. The buffet breakfast was very small and definitely not worth $22 per person. We expected much more for the price we were paying for the room and for a Sheraton hotel. The area was very nice, but on the hotel website it said it was near a beach and there was no beach anywhere with in walking distance. Very disappointed in our stay and will never stay there again or recommend anyone to stay there

Was terrific except if you want to take a shower..
The hotel was exceptional EXCEPT for the water.... our shower would fluctuate from scalding to freezing every minute or so. We reported it and the hotel promptly sent a serviceman to check it out (at 8pm on Sat night). He replaced some piece on the shower faucet and said that should fix it, but we discovered the next morning that there was no change. Had the shower worked correctly, this place would have received 5's on everything. (Also, it came with free wifi, but it was not password protected in the rooms)

Before Cruise
Stayed 2 nights prior to a cruise leaving out of Old San Juan. Great location overlooking the pier. Enjoyed the rooftop pool and gym. Rooms were a bit small and outdated was also shocked that rooms did not have a refrigerator in then but were clean. Only real negative that I took away from this stay was our shower was constantly changing from hot to cold and back and very poor water pressure. The shower on our cruise ship was better than this one in our room. Other than the shower this was a great place to stay. Again, great location.

Sheraton San Juan is living from its former glory
We came to this hotel as a group of 18 people and spent thousands of dollars in rooms, roughly $450 a night per room after fees. For that amount of money I expect greatness and some luxury, but no. The hotel started to disappoint from the beginning and many things went wrong. Maybe this was specific to me and my group, and it was my bad luck but still this place is massively overpriced for what it offers. From the top my toilet was clogged, unresponsive AC, in-room safe had no battery, no curtains, no fridge and no view. The hotel is tired and smells old. The carpet is probably still original alongside the popcorn ceiling. This hotel has one thing going for it and it is the location, it’s truly unbeatable. But the last straw of my frustration was the customer service. I talked to the manager about my discontent with the situation and poor form Sheraton has displayed. She was very dismissive and never asked if there’s anything she could do to make it better for me. Nothing. When I ask her why is this hotel worth $450, she drew a blank. Seriously, she didn't say anything but location. I’m very disappointed at Sheraton San Juan and given the treatment I got from their employee I’m not going to Sheratons/Starwood anymore. I’ve been to Sheraton 3 times in 2018: Tokyo Disney (great), Grand Panama (good) and Old San Juan (sucked!). But clearly the employee doesn't care about customer service, which means that Sheraton doesn’t care about my business so I’ll take it elsewhere.
