Great location, good service

Poor 2.0
Overpriced for a bizarre and dirty experience
The room was completely weird, up in an attic with a large cloth chandelier thing hanging over the bed. Dust would constantly fall from the ceiling and the shower was just IN the bathroom so when you showered the toilet and sink and everything got soaking wet. We aren't very picky but I would have rather just stayed in a hostel and paid hostel pricing for what we got.

Fair 4.0
terrible room for the price
The room was tiny and the shower just a nozzle on the wall so the whole bathroom flooded when you used it. My room had no windows and I could barely fit my suitcase in. There are not concierge services and the TV didn't work. I would not stay here again.

Hotel the Exchange
What an artsy cute boutique hotel within a 5 minute walk directly out of Amsterdam Centrale. You’ll notice the entrance on Damrak by the 2 big red umbrellas in front of their cafe. The front desk staff is very helpful at trying to accommodate your requests as well as storing your luggage if needed. Each room is uniquely decorated with pop art designs as well as the sitting rooms on each floor. Some of the less expensive rooms are quite small where it’s hard to have room to open your suitcases, so I suggest that you request rooms in the new section which s are a bit larger. The beds are comfy and the rooms are equipped with a good working air conditioner. There are also 2 lifts accessing both sections of the hotel. The cafe opens at 7am with great cappuccinos and chai lattes. You can add a breakfast with a fee, but there are so many cute cafes all over town that we tried different places each day. We can recommend Tasha Bellota on for tapas and paella and Soho House on the Singel canal for great Italian food with a touch of sophistication and a pianist playing while you dine. We love this hotel-and it’s location. We would definitely stay here again

Good 6.0
Cute, but spendy, in the middle of Amsterdam
The Exchange is centrally located...close to Central Station, close to the Red Light district, etc., but that also means that it's in a very busy area with lots of foot traffic. Regardless, the room was cute, clean, and quiet. The main downside for me was the price...over $300 euros per night! But they're selling both their central location and the "boutique hotel experience", I guess.
