About Astor Crowne Plaza New Orleans, New Orleans

Grand French Quarter hotel with rooftop pool and oyster bar

French Quarter entrance

It's hard to beat the position on the corner of Canal Street, which traverses New Orleans, and Bourbon Street, at the start of the French Quarter. Trams run direct to the Mississippi River, where you'll find high-end stores and the Audabon Aquarium of the Americas. Valet parking is provided for a fee.

Bourbon Street dancing

Legendary Bourbon Street, just around the corner from Crowne Plaza Hotel New Orleans French Quarter, is still lined with colorful houses with wrought-iron balconies, and historic restaurants, By night it's a buzzy party hub, with bars, jazz clubs, cabarets, and burlesque shows.

Louisiana cuisine

Chandeliers in the lobby speak of the building's past as a department store, though today you'll find a stylish bar. You can eat local dishes at Dick Brennan's Bourbon House Restaurant & Oyster Bar, slurp oysters along the counter, or gaze over town from the rooftop pool terrace.

Don't let the name fool you
they had hot water service problems with one of the towers of rooms...re-appointed what remaining rooms they had left-we didn't get the room that we had reserved!😲We had hot water in the cold taps 1st thing Monday am then no hot water for the balance of the am...they gave us the run-rounded on the reserved room. Used ear cotton swabs on the window sill. Good enough bellman/valet services. Typical 'Orleans' over-priced restaurant offerings-it's a tough neighbourhood and economic situation for them to operate in...i guess their doing the best they can..

Very disappointing!
I booked this hotel because of the proximity to the event my company is attending. I get into the elevator and try to figure out which floor 3 I'm on - 3 or 3M. I pick the wrong one and wander around floor 3 which has stairs to the the 3M level that I drag my bags up and down. I find my room and it is freezing cold when I walk in - there is one window that's about a foot above my head - it looks at a brick wall. My room is more of a prison cell than a hotel room. There is no warm bedding - no comforter and it's freezing. i have a hard time sleeping anyway and thank goodness the bed is comfortable despite being cold and I fall asleep. At 230am there is some sort of construction or drilling going on in the hotel and I wake up- never to return to sleep! I'm so disappointed- the pictures online look beautiful- my pictures are the truth! Talk about being deceived- never again.

Very Noisy Location
This was a combined business and vacation trip. Canal Street is very noisy. Thursday-Sunday there were constant sirens at night, a bullhorn preacher, honking cars, drummers, you name it. This made it hard to sleep. This is close to Bourbon street so if you are there for street drinking it is convenient but you will also have drunken guests in the hotel. Monday and Tuesday night were much quieter. A Central Business District location may have been better for us. The staff was great. There is no refrigerator or microwave in the room.

Locals staycation
We stayed at Astor Crown Plaza for only one night. We have stayed with them before. It was incredibly comfortable. Love the pillows. Bed was cozy. We will definitely stay again.
