Great position
The best part of the Edwardian Hotel is the position. Walking distance to Hayes St, Castro, City Center and Mission Districts. Easy access to BART and the airport. The room has a bathroom and the bed was comfortable. It is a step up from the shared bathroom of cheaper places. Pretty basic room otherwise. Tea and coffee in the lobby, not in your room.

Truly a 2-star hotel
This hotel reminds me of a youth hostel. Only a sink inside room. Separate rooms for both commode (no sink) and bathtub. Two very uncomfortable-looking twin beds in room. Thank goodness we just used it as a staging area to dress for an event at the SVN.

Stinky bedding
The hotel was in walking distance of our event which is why I chose this location. The front desk staff was very friendly. The building is older and remodeled with tight quarters, and some bathrooms located outside of the room (which was indicated online). The building and location was not out of my expectations and was fine for what we needed. There is no parking and all of the nearby lots have online warnings not to park there unless you want your back window broken out. The one other problem was that the bed was not the most comfortable and the pillows were old, lumpy, and smelled dirty (you could smell one pillow from a foot away). I probably could have gone downstairs to request a new pillow, but just ended up covering the one useable pillow before use.
