This is a beautiful property and the staff is extremely accommodating. However, there is a fatal flaw for those like me who rise early and need coffee. There are no coffee makers in the rooms. The earliest you can buy coffee anywhere on the property is 6:30 am. This is a deal killer for folks who have an early flight or tee time. No coffee available at all. However, Marcellus, the night desk clerk saved me by providing me with coffee at 4:30 am. Likely staff coffee. So, hurray for those staff members who go the extra mile to make the guest comfortable. Marcellus, Anna and Bernard, thank you. To management of the Diplomat, if you really need the revenue stream from coffee, put in a vending machine for those of us who need coffee before your coffee shop opens.

Great place to stay, the pool area is amazing along with access to the beach. The food and drinks are way over-priced. Unfortunately, not a lot to do around the hotel, however a short uber ride to the boardwalk is reasonable.

Not impressed
Our trip was pretty good but we should have stayed at a cheaper hotel. The hotel is beautiful but the cleaning people left a card on our bed saying they “cleaned as much as they could without disturbing our things”. They did not make either bed because we had a pair of pajamas on one bed and a child’s stuffed toy on the other. They took our towels and left only bath towels no hand or face towels nor did they wipe down the sink. We paid for a resort (literally paid a daily fee) that we couldn’t take advantage of because of the weather and the they wouldn’t even make our beds. Also, the valet prices were ridiculous.
