All around good hotel.
The hotel is older but comfortable and clean. It is about 1/2 mile from the center of town. The staff was very nice and helpful. Rooms were large. Parking in the garage.

Mixed reviews!
In Banff for a ski holiday; access to hotel was very good, reception/check-in was abysmal, but hotel compensated with a free breakfast. Steak at Bumpers Restaurant was outstanding. The room was fine, beds were not too comfy, and pillows were obviously outdated - broken up and lumpy. Pool and Hot tub were as good as the picture promised.

Nice hotel on Banff Ave
Again we received a less than ideal room by booking through Hotels.com consistently I end up with a room near the elevator, ice machine, across from the pool, behind the marquee sign with no view. The hotels save their best rooms for call or walk in clients. As convenient as it is to book with H.C. I am convinced I receive less than the best.

Just so-so
The lodge was a bit disappointing. The staff is extremely nice and the parking (indoor and heated) is a huge bonus. The rooms are extremely outdated. We had a premium room and it was showing its age. Bed was comfortable and linens nice, but the furniture was outdated. The bathroom shower head was not updated,, the toilet itself was very low to the ground - both of us are tall and that was a bit disconcerting... The halls were dark and smelled of chlorine and bleach. Although I appreciate the cleanliness efforts, the smell was overpowering in the halls. The location of the lodge could not have been better. Easy walk to the main shopping and restaurant area. Easy drive to all the area attractions and bus stops right outside the lodge if you want public transport. Not sure that it was that great of a deal. Our room did not have a view or an outdoor area which I had really expected, maybe not realistic on my part. A continental breakfast and coffee service in the lobby would be a great addition. Phone in our room did not work to call the front desk.
