Stayed here twice. First time the room was great and spacious. It may have been an upgrade. I was not as impressed with my second stay. The room was smaller and not as nice.

everything was great except someone knocked on our door 5 times at midnight trying to get in. Very scary for 2 girls traveling alone

The Lodge is Great!
Lodge on the Desert is the most beautiful venue! The rooms are spacious, the landscape gorgeous and the staff friendly and helpful. It is really quiet which I appreciate. If it makes sense, we really enjoyed the other guests we met at the pool. This was my 9-year-old grandson's first trip to Arizona. He really, really enjoyed the Lodge! Arizona is my Mom's home state so we will definitely be back.

Snobby, Confrontational, Possibly criminal! SHAME
What a Shame, the Lodge itself is charming! Clean rooms, impeccable decor, pleasant & accommodating restaurant/bar staff... that's where the compliments end! If you want a peaceful AZ vacation w/ mountain or desert views this is NOT that place! Located in a sketchy area - OUR CAR WAS KEYED in the parking lot overnight! Although they have a "premises under surveillance" sign, suspiciously, a camera wasn't covering our section of the lot. Compels me to believe their staff targeted our car - I'll get to that. After dinner/cocktails we strolled the premises & discovered the nicer side of the Lodge. Larger rooms, balcony's/patios, string lights, gravel paths & gardens... & they were ALL EMPTY! Whereas our room was located on a less desirable side, next to the loud pool & booked tightly. Our "patio" was a loose railroad tie, 4X4 ft of dirt (no concrete), a unkempt bush separating us from another tiny patio booked w/ a loud family. Who knew asking the snobby front desk staff questions warranted confrontation? He unwittingly revealed that the Lodge had only 40/100 rooms booked that night so they close off the nicer side of the premises during the summer. Apparently this is how they manage slow season & prepare for low income guests who take advantage of summer discounts. They prefer to keep the "Rif Raff" contained in the lower budgeted side. After this conduct, imagine waking up to a keyed car? The Lodge manager offered us a discount & promised a better room upon return. AS IF!

The pool and service were great. I would stay there again without hesitation. It was nice having the restaurant and bar at the hotel, and having the pool open 24 hours was a big plus. The perfect weekend getaway for me and my girl. Special thanks to the young man at the desk when we checked in, he was polite, and extremely helpful.
